In the 1992 movie, Home Alone 2, Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay Culkin) was again alone when he took the wrong plane and ends up in New York City. He was supposed to be with his family on a trip to Florida.

During the night before the trip, Peter (Kevin’s father) accidentally resets the alarm clock which caused the family to oversleep causing a mad rush to get to the airport on time. In the confusion, Kevin who was carrying Peter’s bag (containing cash, credit card and clothes) boarded the wrong plane to New York City.

After touring the city, Kevin decided to stay in the Plaza Hotel, using his father’s credit card.

In the hotel, Kevin bumped in Donald Trump, the owner of Plaza Hotel and asked him where the lobby was.

Trump replied, “Down the hall and to the left”.

Donald Trump then 46 years old, played himself in the cameo role lasting 6 seconds.

Matt Damon in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, revealed that Donald Trump typically demanded that he appear in the movies in exchange for shooting them in his buildings. One of the movies is Home Alone 2.

According to Matt, most of the scenes in such movies were edited out, except Home Alone 2.

“Have You Ever Met Trump?

No. The deal was that if you wanted to shoot in one of his buildings, you had to write him in a part. [Director] Martin Brest had to write something in Scent of a Woman — and the whole crew was in on it. You have to waste an hour of your day with a bullshit shot: Donald Trump walks in and Al Pacino’s like, “Hello, Mr. Trump!” — you had to call him by name — and then he exits. You waste a little time so that you can get the permit, and then you can cut the scene out. But I guess in Home Alone 2 they left it in.” – The Hollywood Reporter
