After much research, I found that a well known Chinese medicine called Huang Qi can help to improve the immune system. After taking the medicine, his immune system has improved tremendously and the frequency of flu has been drastically reduced.
Huang Qi (Radix Astargali) is commonly known to Westerners as Astragalus root. Huang Qi is a plant within the legumes family. In Chinese traditional medicine, the Huang Qi root has been used for thousand of years as an immune system booster, apart from other uses.
The plant is native to northern and eastern China, as well as Mongolia and Korea. The Huang Qi plant is about 16 to 36 inches tall and the root is the medicinal portion of the plant.
Huang Qi contains anti-oxidants which protect cells from inflammation and damage. According to the University Of Maryland Medical Center,
Astragalus may help protect the body from diseases such as cancer and diabetes. It contains antioxidants, which protect cells against damage. Astragalus is used to protect and support the immune system, preventing colds and upper respiratory infections, lowering blood pressure, treating diabetes, and protecting the liver.
Astragalus has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. People sometimes use it on the skin for wound care. In addition, studies have shown that astragalus has antiviral properties and stimulates the immune system, suggesting that it may help prevent colds.

One group received 5 grams of Huang Qi in pills three times daily, and the other group received 15 grams of Huang Qi in decoction every other day. All patients had two courses of 10 days treatment, with 5 days of rest in between courses. The study reported that patients in both groups had similar results.
